A short, rather angsty ficlet. If JKR insists on her canon, then she can take this as being as close to canon-compliant as I'll ever get.

I enjoyed it greatly... I've been out of writing H/HR since the crapilogue that I forgot how great they are...

Painful, but very, very true.

And yes, even though canon turned out to be crap that totally didn't fulfill the promise, I would not trade my H/Hr for anything.

Sad and sweet. That's why I have to read AU or post-epilogue (e.g., deaths and divorces). It's just so sad otherwise. I'm new to this fandom but there's always this poignancy when reading H/Hr thinking "this is the way it should be/ this is what's so effing obvious". I wrote a two-shot kind of like this and kept repeating "isn't it obvious" when discussing H/Hr b/c it is so obvious! Sorry, rant. Thanks. Glad to see you're still writing H/Hr.

H/Hr will always be my OTP, regardless of what JKR wrote. Thanks for this lovely little piece, Sarah.
