The 1 Year After collection continues...

Aug 03, 2008 19:37

The next part of 'What Happened Before the Wedding'.
A short chapter because it's so hard for me to write Ginny in a non-snarky, relatively sympathetic sort of way (and I don't think I succeeded terribly well.) More UST in this chapter.

Chapter 3: Confessing the Truth )

thwc, anti-h/g, 1 year after collection, ust, before the wedding

I think that Harry puts Hermione into the 'forbidden' category because Ron fancied her first, essentially. It's not the fact that she's his best friend so much as the fact that she's also the girl his best friend fancies.
Plus, I think part of it is that Harry's afraid of losing HErmione if anything goes wrong, or if she doesn't fancy him too. Harry needs Hermione more than Ron does and is more likely, I think, to not want to risk their friendship.

Fabulous job and I think everyone was very much in character. I really liked how Ginny was only concerned with what people would think and the destruction of her perfect, little fantasy.

Lovely H/Hr interaction.

I've just read all three chapters and I think this is brilliant. I think your Ginny is perfectly in character from cannon, which is why she isn't overly sympathetic. Ron is jealous and concerned about his family first and his friends second, which also rings true to me. Hermione's first priority is Harry, which was true even in DH. Harry is brilliant and complex and lovely.
