Aww, I can't wait to see where this goes!

Well, I feel like it's been longer because I date her ruining everything back to HBP.
But yeah, it does feel like longer.

We need more stories that capitalise on that Yule Ball moment. Actually, I thought just yesterday I have to re-read that paragraph ... I read somewhere a statement that canon!Hermione wasn't 'pretty', just ordinary looking. Which is probably true, except for that night - did Harry think of her as 'beautiful'? Is that word mentioned, the same way that 'love' *isn't* for the canon relationships? :D I'll have to grab the book ...

Anti-canon fics to cancel out the horror sound like just the ticket!

Maybe I can finally post in my own blog my own opinion of the book and the series around that time, too. I always meant to but I had family problems the week after DH came out.

I believe, if memory serves, that the exact words are 'very pretty'. I don't remember the word 'beautiful' ever being used in canon but that just goes to show how JKR really is a juvenile sort of author. The lack of the word 'love' -- well, I think the reason for that is because, aside from L/J and possibly Remus/Tonks (not that we're given any R/T to be able to judge), the actual relationships in the books aren't really love.
