The second drabble was my favorite. I just "love" how all the R/Hr fans just assume that what Hermione smelled reminded her of Ron. I'm actually convinced JK made Hermione stop short to stop her from revealing her true feelings for Harry. :-)
I liked the first drabble, of course, but the second was awesome, because...well, that's exactly what we all would have had her smelling. :P A very satisfying explanation indeed.
I love both of these drabbles - you guys are spoiling us readers here! I love this line from the first one: She kissed him and she kissed him and she kissed him-and somewhere, in the back of her mind, she was vaguely conscious of only one coherent thought amid all the other emotions of apprehension and fear and love and happiness: patience is over-rated.
