A nicely realistic panic attack that you started us off with.

'Hermione!'

Hmmm. I've only just realised that Hermione never asks Harry about his nightmare, what he was dreaming about, in this or the second instalment. And he woke up shouting her name!?! Surely she must be curious? Was he having a nightmare about her? Wow. She was just as successful in diverting *my* attention from Harry's panic attack as she was with Harry! :-)

It is sincerely quite delightful to learn more about your Hermione. And if I'm enjoying it I'm sure your Harry is also.

Although he brought me to a start with this:

"How can you stand to hang out with us? What are you doing, being friends with an idiot like me?"

Great line. And always something of a problem with a H/Hr story. Usually the author has Harry grow up, mature, to a man more suitable of being a match with Hermione.

But your response this time came out of left field:

"It’s because there are more important things than books and cleverness."Ah ( ... )

If it means anything, I rather imagined that the reason Hermione came in was because she heard the sound when Harry fell against the wall, not so much because she heard what he said.

I'll never get enough of the "books and cleverness" line. ;-)
As for Harry growing up enough to deserve her, well, I'm working on it. He takes something of a step forward in the next chapter...
