Today is the vernal equinox, celebrated as Ostara by some pagans. I decided that for shits and giggles I would blow an egg and paint it. It has been my idea to accrue a collection of individually hand painted eggs that I could display for things like this, rather than doing the messy, tacky dying thing. Try searching for "pysanky" on eBay.

Or buy and paint wooden eggs. Less fragile, too.

Yeah, in the midst of huffing and puffing the shell collapsed and egg splattered all over. Luckily I didn't get any in my mouth.

I actually took another shot at it and succeeded. I think the key is to buy the cheapy generic kinds of eggs from the big grocery stores. I was using free range vegetarian eggs from a local business. All those extra vitamins made for one badass strong egg.
