I have just gotten a GJ with this same name and I friended you. I agree that it's not a long term solution, though. My stuff is too tame for anyone to care about it, but I certainly read content they might find questionable. It seems that art is the target this time, but who knows what will come?

I think your point about fandom having toys of questionable legality is a huge, huge part of this. Obviously fanartists are not after the same endgame as those in child pornography, but claiming freedom of expression when you're playing in someone else's created world is pretty tenuous.

Understand that I'm all for freedom of expression-- I'm employed in the field of the arts after all. But you're right, this is a complicated issue and the blame can't be all laid at Six Apart's feet. Synecdochic makes some really good points, thanks for the link.
