If I'm not mistaken, DDR already had its peak years ago (back when kids in Japan/Taiwan/Korea were hard-core DDR-ing for competitions). I don't think it'll get bigger in the US because everyone who cares has done it already *coughMEcough*
It has yet to become anything sort of a "craze" here however. Just a hobby that mostly those who are "dorks", "nerds", and "geeks" practice. Various gaming companies have tried to steal the idea (The dance twister game...thing, barbie's pink floral version, I even think Britney's video game was a handheld version), but none of the copies caught on because there wasn't much of an intrest in mainstream.
Not to mention, if you go with the theory that Madonna tends to say stay ahead of fad cycles, give it some time, it'll be the next yoga.
My personal observations though. (I've already met a few people here at school who've never even heard of the game.)
It might possibly get bigger with Mario DDR coming out soon but I think the major players are already out. Whenever I hit arcades, there's someone rockin the DDR 4 or 5. Damn, they're good. But if Madonna (who I love) is always a meter for trends, does this mean the 70's are back? ...again? (I'm still wearing flared jeans from the last revival XD)
