I want every day to be like yesterday; the perfect New York day.

Parents are in town. Had omelets-and-mimosas brunch at Nolita House, then spent all afternoon at the mammoth Russia! exhibit at the Guggenheim. A whole roomful of Kandinskys, the ones with bubbles and pastel colors. Cool, crisp autumn weather. I wore a sweater and blazer. After ( Read more... )

Such a beautifully written entry. =) I miss you. I wish I could see what you see, and I do with your words.

The Guggenheim's Kandinsky exhibit... is it a permanent one? When I went with Isabel (two or three years ago? Wait, Summer of 2003, so 2 and a half years ago), that was where I discovered Kandinsky and my favourite painting (Several Circles).

Several Circles is one of my favorites too! The whole museum is doing one exhibit, which is Russian art from the 1500s to post-Communism. They have plenty of Kandinskys in the permanent collection, so they put a bunch of them in with the exhibit. The Guggenheim/Kandinsky relationship is well-established... they were one of the first major museums ever to display his work.

I miss you so much. Wish I had any time off, or any money to buy a plane ticket. So glad you have your Monkey to keep you company.

And yes, I'm going to start reading you more regularly now. You're a beautiful writer.
