As much as I enjoyed my month in Madrid, it isn´t a place where I could live.  Regardless of the language barrier, it´s too modern, it´s too impersonal...I didn´t quite click with it.  It was more of a DC than a New York.  San Sebastian is beautiful.  It´s what I expected Spain to be like- narrow, carless streets, little shops with beautiful

long time, no talk. it seems that everyone (including john oates) but me had a chance to go to spain. hopefully i'll be able to one day.

what caught my eye is that your friend's name is brennan. i never met anyone who shares my name (at least as a forename), and i find it interesting that it's not only a name reserved for males.

Brennan is a very cool, and beautiful, girl. She says she has never met another girl named Brennan, only boys. Also, her middle name is Lawrence. Maybe you can make up for Spain by hanging out with the Oatester and myself in New York.

Basque atrocious? Is this based on hearing, or on seeing the language written? Because if I'm not mistaken, the Basque "x" represents the "sh" sound in English. Which would make a "tx" a "ch" sound, and a "cx" a "ksh".

That´s close to the actual pronunciations, there´s also a terrible "ek" sound that comes up a lot, and way too many Qs. Aesthetically, I hate the way it looks as well. The local speciality is a squid cooked in its own ink. I had a nightmare about being cooked in my own pen ink for being a bad writer.

Two things:

1. I have lots of important mail for you, and I'm not sure what you want me to do with it (besides stick it in a box and send it to your parents).

2. You should have used a semicolon at the end: "I shall miss this place; I shall return."

You should probably send it to my parents, seeing as how I am going to be in Europe for three more weeks. Also, I like the certainty of the period used there.
