Happy Anniversary to us! The community will be two whole years old on the 15th! Thanks to all of you for making this such a fun place to be.

Sorta.

Comment fic is prompt driven where the fic is posted in a comment whereas a prompt fest gathers prompts which are filled and then posted elsewhere like in a collection at AO3.

comment_fic is an example of comment fic.

avengersfest is an example of prompt fest fic.

A three-sentence prompt-fic fest?

Well, people provide prompts (unlimited prompts!) and then others write ficlets to those prompts -- no longer than three sentences. Here's an example from such a minifest we had on be_compromised the other day. It's either an exercise in restraint, or a challenge to write the longest-possible sentences without losing grammatical coherence. Here's an example of each, both written by yours very truly:

Prompt: "Highwire" (by Franztastisch)

"There has to be a better way to get across to that other roof."

"Relax, I'll be fine - circus boy, remember?"

"Just do me a favour, Barton, and don't step on the fuse box again."

Prompt: "Twenty things an assassin can do with paper clips" (lar_laughs
