My apologies if this has already been posted somewhere. Has anyone seen a description of the passage of time in the Avengers movie? In other words, how long between the opening scene and the Stark Tower scene, between the Stark Tower scene and the Stuttgart scene... etc. How many days pass while the plot is taking place, that sort of thing. I've

If it's her flying to D.C., then that means everything from Tony's homework to Stuttgart to Loki opening the portal happened in a matter of hours!
One might also consider the effect of time zones. The helicarrier was flying from the direction of Europe to the USA, it seems, and they would see sunrise before the East Coast....
This might not be of much help. :)

This would put the theft of the Tesseract probably three or so days before Stuttgart

There's also this timeline that has actual dates for everything from the first Aesir/Jotun war, up through the Avengers. Hands down the best timeline I've found (though it doesn't break down The Avengers as well as 8m57w6 did). I reference it a lot.

It's also possible that SHIELD jets fly much faster that normal planes:),
Also, Russia is a big country:), if Natasha is in Asian part of it, or even in one of former USSR Republics, she can be much closer to India than from Moscow (and actually be in the same time zone as Bruce).
In an alternative opening the interrogatiopn of Maria Hill takes place '48 hours after the Tesseract incident'. I assume they meant 'after the battle ended' - so Loki and Thor's departure happens 48 hours after the battle.

And Bruce is shown as being in Kolkata, which is an hour and a half further east than Moscow, which is pretty darn close time-wise.

He may have simply shadowed the helicarrier at a distance until some prearranged time Loki wanted him to come in and attack (or on some signal from the scepter, since I think it's on the screen in the hijacked Quinjet's cockpit).
Remember that he didn't know where Selvig ended up with the Tesseract, so there's little reason to think he returned to the USA after Stuttgart.
