Years later, Tony and Bruce meet in real life, and hit it off instantly. Somehow, eventually, they discover who they really are to each other. Bonus points if they knew each other by on-screen names, and that's somehow how they discover each other's identity. Extra bonus points if they'd resumed chatting, and were talking to each other about the other(no names of course, because the avengers is top secret) without realizing it : )

Tony taught Bruce how to build a computer out of practically scrap metal.
Bruce taught Tony how to seamlessly integrate flesh with computer in a way to keep the machines from harming the body.
And then it shifted. It being whatever tentative friendship they may have had.

Logs began to pile up, carefully saved to three different hard drives (because Tony was a paranoid man, getting more paranoid by the year after finding a few of his carefully hidden files on a new weapons system he was going to use to surprise his dad) and treasured.
No matter how drunk Tony may be, no matter what he typed out to GM, the guy on the other end of the line just didn’t back down. Tony was being spoiled with this much undivided attention.
Nobody else in the house really cared what Tony did, so he immersed himself in machinery and a single log that he used to connect himself to a real person in-between his hedonistic parties, attempting to catch his dads attention in at lest one way.
What could he say- all the attention GM was giving him made him eager for more, and he was a genius. What could possibly go wrong ( ... )
