Hey guys and gals, honestly meant to post this yesterday, sorry for the delay.

I thought it might be a good time for another check-in and/or brainstorming post. We're going to be at the final date soon, so we're basically in the home stretch now. I can only hope it's all positive news for your stories but how are things going? Characters behaving ( Read more... )

I'll start. Perspective is the biggest concern in my story. I tend to write from a non-existent third narrator, so my stories tend to get a little dry. With help from my beta I'm working on shifting it to (still third person narration) but focusing on one character's perspective.

Perspective makes me want to shoot myself in the foot sometimes D: I have a habit of getting into a specific perspective and then halfway through I'll realize, that, hey, this story would actually be better served from a different POV. And so massive rewrites ensue.

At least you're at the beta stage though? That's more than I can say for my fic! <3

I hear you. It sounds like you're doing the right thing keeping it to one character. Perspective is something I'm definitely going to have to smooth out during the beta process.

my story is currently a rabid, starving monster locked up in my closet D: it is not getting fed because something possessed me to join a different big bang whose deadline is looming terrifyingly close (10K to write! by next week! And! It still needs betaing!). So, once that madness is over and dealt with, I'll have time to really tidy up the loose ends and send it off to beta (ohyeahbutfirstIstillneedtofindone*sob*sob*).

So basically for me, everything's terrible and nothing is rainbows yet :(

It's at a bit of a standstill to be honest, though I'm blaming it on the copious amount of work I have going on at the moment. I'm hoping this weekend will give me some time to finish it, since I've only got a couple more scenes to write (too bad one of them is the big climactic fight scene).

I've noticed that for me the big climactic fight scenes are the ones that are easiest to write. Hopefully the same holds true for you and you can get this finished by the weekend! Good luck bb!

I have to thank you for your advice last time I complained of being stuck, because it helped get me through that. Well, also, it turns out that when Azula is feeling down, oppressing peasants is really good for her mood. So now I have a bunch of handwritten pages, and will hopefully use my day off productively and type them up.
