Drabble: Final grades

Seth hummed to himself as he walked out to the mailbox in front of his and Jasper’s house. Summer was just starting to kick into gear in upstate New York but here near the mountains it was still fairly cool. He and Jasper had been out of school for nearly a month and were enjoying having the uninterrupted time together.
Pulling the mail from the box he flipped through the bills, junk, letters and… Seth’s eyes widened. Turning he ran back into the house. “Jazz! We got them!”
“Got what?” Jasper questioned from where he was cooking Seth’s breakfast.
“Our grades for this semester!” Seth tossed the bills, junk and letters onto the table before jumping up to sit on the counter beside where Jasper was cooking.
“Excellent, what did you get?”
Seth bit his lip. “I dunno, I haven’t opened it yet. I’m nervous.”
“I can tell, why are you nervous? You are very smart.”
“You have to say that.”
“I say that because it’s true.”
“Still… that German and Psychology class nearly kicked my butt.”
Jasper sighed. He knew Seth had struggled with those two classes; they had studied for each test for hours together but in the end he thought Seth had done well.
“Do you want me to open yours?”
“Please?” Seth gave him the perfect puppy pout.
“Give it here, you open mine first.” Seth handed him the envelope with his name on it before opening the one with Jasper’s. He took the paper out and unfolded it, rolling his eyes as he read over the grades.
“Straight A’s, like there was any doubt.” Jasper nudged his lover and opened the envelope in his hand. To tease Seth he did this so slowly until his lover’s impatience won over and Seth grabbed the envelope from his hands. “You can be so annoying!” Seth pulled the paper with his grades on it and looked it over. Slowly a smile formed on his face.
“Well? How did you do?” Jasper asked.
“A’s and B’s!” Seth exclaimed. “All A’s except in German, which is the B!”
“Congrats love, I knew you could do it.”
“Eggs are burning.”
“Shit!”
