Drabble: First steps

Prompt: First steps
Jasper felt Seth’s excitement a second before his voice came. “Jazz! Jasper! Come see! Hurry!” Putting the knife he was using to cut up an apple he went to the living room quickly.
“What is…” His voice failed as he looked at Seth. His husband was sitting on bent knees, a huge smile on his face. But what really caught his eye was what was between them, their son, Luka. Their son was holding onto the couch, a very determined look on his face. Luka looked at Jasper, his eyes widen and golden from under messy locks of black hair.
“Da!” Luka exclaimed letting go of the couch. His legs wobbled and Jasper took a step forward ready to catch him.
“No Jazz, wait, watch,” Seth told him. Jasper stopped and waited, watching as his son took first one step…and then another. His own eyes widened as he watched Luka take halting steps toward him.
It seemed to go in slow motion but all too soon Luka latched onto his legs, a huge smile on his face. “DA!”
Luka’s smile was infectious, something he had gotten from Seth, and Jasper found himself smiling as he leaned down and scooped up his son. “Luka! You walked!” He said holding the baby tightly.
“Wok!”
Seth chuckled as he got to his feet and came to them, kissing Luka’s chubby cheek first and then Jasper’s. “His first steps.”
