Fandom: Tin Man
Pairing: Cain/Glitch
Prompt: #3 in fandom bingo.

Cain shook his head, a bemused smile on his lips, as he watched Glitch chase Lily, their daughter, around their rooms. He couldn’t believe that today was Lily’s first day of school. It seemed like just yesterday he had come home to find not only his lover waiting for him, but a baby as well.

He had just finished a long day, inspecting the new Tin Man that morning and then a full patrol in the afternoon. All Cain wanted was a hot meal, a hot bath and to curl up with Glitch in bed. Okay… maybe not just curl up with Glitch but do something with him in bed. Cain has just hung up his hat and coat when he heard his lover’s laughter. Stepping into the living room of their suite in the palace he was greeted with the heart melting image of Glitch playing with a baby and the baby was giggling. There was just one problem.

They didn’t have a baby.

It had taken a couple of hours but Cain finally got the story from Glitch. He had been out in the city, getting some fresh apples, when he had seen a cloaked figure leave a basket on the step of a building. The building had turned out to be the orphanage and in the basket was a baby. Because no one had come to the door after the figure knocked, Glitch had taken it upon himself to save the baby from whatever fate had in store.

Now, four years later it was Lily’s first day of school and Glitch wanted her to look pretty. He had gotten the notion to put ribbons in her black hair… but Lily wasn’t making it easy. Cain chuckled as Glitch fell into a chair, completely out of breath.

“Do something with your daughter!” He exclaimed waving the blue ribbons in his hand at Cain.

“Alright.” Cain waited until Lily was running by him before scooping her into his arms. Lily giggled as he tickled her sides and then settled her in his lap. “Let me do your hair sugar.”

“Okay papa,” Lily agreed and he kissed her temple. Glitch stared at them, his mouth open before he pouted.

“She just likes you better,” he muttered crossing his arms.

“Sugar, go give daddy a kiss and get those ribbons so I can do your hair. You want to look pretty on your first day of school.” Lily nodded and slipped out of Cain’s arms. She went over to Glitch, giving him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek before bringing the ribbons back to Cain. “That’s my girl.”
