After some shifting around and discussion with editor, I sent over the ms. of Pictures of Houses with Water Damage as I'd like the 19 stories to be in order. The order is, I feel, thematically sound.

I was through four floods, in the last place I lived, in Vista.

It always seemed to happen around midnight.

It sucked. I had to pull out the Bissel and suck up all the water.

It was a good excuse to not go to work the next day, but it sucked.

And then there's the mold.

I do believe that LSD is made from mold.

So is mushrooms.

Yeah, LSD was discovered via mold whole Dr. Albert Hoffmann was discovering penacillin. The compounds of acid and penacillin differ by one ingredient.

In Hoffmann's memoir, he describes a three day fry when he ingested the mold to see what would happen...

Shrooms grow best in wet cow shit. They grow under pine trees and in rocks...depends on what shroom...fly agaric grows in the snow...when I was in Japana in 2000, shrooms were legal and purchased via street kiosks but I hear you can't get em that way anymopre because too many Japanese housewives were frying their brains out...I was on tour with Lord of Acid, writing about their Japanese exploits. Lots of XTC, LSD, and meth was around...and weird Japanese groupies...in Osaka, the security at the Osaka Hilton pulled me off the 20th story balcony, where I dangled by one arm and screamed, "I AM THE YOKAZUNA OF OSAKA!!!"

I have some shrooms in the fridge...haven't been able to shroom since an intense, two day journey Dec 2004...almost to this date...four years...it was both terrifying and enlightening...I have no idea how I wound up at the beach, near the Ob Pier, where a luminous sphere hovered me, like a UFO, engulfed me in yellow light, and the next thing I knew I was in the shower and crying, half dressed...now, maybe aliens whisked me away, or it was the cops, who knows...then Carlos Castaneda's ghost appeared at the door and demanded to me let in...no, have not bee able to shroom since...
