Shakespeare may have written, "Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them", but he didn't say anything about having greatness occurring only to people they know. I refer to two incidents in the past week where things happened to other people in my life

Mom said national news outlets were calling her at 6 in the morning, which is kind of weird because he hasn't lived at home since '92.

Ha, I was interested in the bit about the marlin, but then I got to the Jet Blue thing and that is just amazing!

I don't know much about fish, so I can't understand why a 90-pound white marlin is worth $800,000, but a 1,000-pound blue marlin is only $360,000. Clearly it's not economies of scale at work here.

Phil's apparently doing a Washington Post chat at 2:00. He better not let fame go to his head!

Cool! I saw the chat and wondered if he was related to you. Your brother's pretty articulate and stayed cool as a cucumber despite the excitement among the chatters on the Post.

OMG, Fox 5 News just completely messed up the piece on the 10:00 broadcast. They showed a clip of an idiot who lives where the FA lives, whining about the media but put your brother's name on the screen. Then a moment later showed a clip of your brother being interviewed and, of course, only identified him as "another passenger on the flight".

I had messages on my answering machine this morning from Fox in New York. They must have been searching on the last name and trying to find out how to get in touch with my brother because they'd also called our mom.

The story has certainly gotten around. He did at least four TV appearances; I wonder which one you saw?

I didn't catch the network logo - it was a very short clip. I think he was wearing a dark t-shirt, if that narrows it down at all :)
