The seller is some kind of investor trying to flip the house, so basically wants more money. I'm not going to spend the rest of the weekend agonizing over it, though.

Sorry to hear that. :/ That flipper will learn quite quickly that the real estate market is quite volatile and he won't be getting as much as he wishes.

He's said he feels he doesn't need to sell it because if he can't get what he wants, he'll just rent it. Bugger.
