It's probably a good thing most people don't have an accurate self image. The first time I saw a video of myself my mind gurgled and screamed in horror. I don't think of myself as a hideous monster but it was definitely a shock to not see myself from the head on viewpoint I've grown accustomed to.

I think there's also a weird eireeness - we recognize ourselves, but at the same time that person is someone we've never seen before.

I'm almost over watching video of myself (though it's still painful, and I'm still not into my ethereal way of moving), but hearing my voice is still like nails on a chalkboard! (And, like you, it isn't that my voice is so awful, it's just..jarring!)

Oh yeah the voice thing. I think I sound like Kermit the frog or something. It's just that everyone else isn't privy to all the bass resonance available locally in my own head. ;)
