Thy name is dyhidrotic eczema.

Well, I have a name for the blisters on my hands now... Dyshidrotic eczema. The Interweb tells me that they don't know what causes it, but it seems to occur in individuals with other allergies, especially an allergy to nickel (which I have), a great deal of stress (which I also have) and seems to be multi-factorial. Sweat irritates it. It is NOT ( Read more... )

Does this mean you are not, in fact, allergic to hazelnuts?

Just curious.

WEll... who knows. If I stay away from nuts, I seem to not get the rash, so I should probably stay away from the nuts. BUT it may be that if I'm less stressed, I can cautiously have the nuts. Peanuts are probably still out though!

Too bad it's not Dicrotic Eczema. At least then it would be all glittery.

Ohh! Yeah.. that could be fun... a rash that makes you glittery.. you could probably market that to ravers.

are they little tiny ichy blisters? cause I get those on my hands (mostly between the fingers and on the palms) during the summer sometimes especially if I am very stressed.

Sounds like it. I posted a longer description in the food_allergies community (on my info page.. I can't get the link to work), if you want to take a look.

The interweb also describes it as looking "like frog eggs" and "tapioca". Yeah. I used to get them between my fingers, but when I stopped eating nuts they seemed to go away. Another website indicates that BCP can increase the chance of an outbreak as well.

They suck. Alot. I am sorry to hear that we have them in common, as well.

Ever notice how the medical establishment points out stress as a major factor in many medical conditions but no health plan will reimburse stress reduction expenses such as the cost of massages, hot tub time, yoga classes, good books, etc.? This seems to me very unjust.
