HA!!! :D

Yup... that's exactly what I have a mind to do when I catch you, Moffat. Love you to pieces...

BTW, have you seen episode 3?

Yes.

And for the love of everything that is holy, everyone on tumblr is fawning and swooning over how much they love it. This is A Scandal in Belgravia all over again. Also written by Moffat.

OH YES. Yes indeed. I noticed very much and was cursing the man probably from the first twenty minutes in >:| First. This was NOT Sherlock Holmes, or anyone like him. Holmes' IQ was well above 65, whereas this detective person... well, he was as bright as Moffat, I suppose.

I am not quite as angry with this one as I was with ASiB. I was seething there, and only moderately to severely annoyed here. But UGH!!! First Irene Adler gets dragged through the mud, now Mary Morstan???

NO. Just. No.

I need to wash my eyes out with Granada...

On the other hand, everybody else on the internet loved it to bits and pieces, so it's entirely possible you will like it too.
Do you think you'll watch the episode soon?

I think Sherlock starts airing here next week. So far I haven't seen any of the third series. I'm torn about Sherlock. I really enjoyed the first series, but I had much more trouble with the second one.

I still think that Martin Freeman's John Watson is very good, but Cumberbatch's Sherlock, while fun to watch, isn't the Sherlock Holmes who's presented to us in the books. Perhaps those who really adore the show, haven't read many of the stories. Because, taken at face value with no preconceived ideas about Holmes and Watson, Sherlock is very entertaining.

Oh. I don't want to influence you then. But I can't wait for you to see the new episodes, so that I can ask you what you think of it!

*nods* Yup. Unfortunately for me, I found the liberties they take more and more cringe-worthy... Changing the stories is one thing (I may not always love the result, but I don't mind too much). Changing the characters, and worse still, the main characters, is another thing entirely.

I whole-heartedly agree. When one looks at the Sherlock-Janine relationship, it's completely out of character for what was established in the previous two seasons.
Whatever happened to "girlfriend, not my area." In the canon, Holmes gets engaged to a maid and yet some so-called purists are endorsing Moffat's version, because it is canon. In the Victorian era, people could be engaged without being overly intimate with each other. This does not translate well to modern times however and the result is ridiculous and bad fan-fic to boot.
