Back from the boat...

I just got back this afternoon from spending four days alone with my beloved on her father's boat.  Even though we didn't leave the jetty, it was a marvelous time.  I saw my first jellyfish, a spectacularly delicate creature of red and white, throbbing to some unknown rhythm as it drifted along the waves.  I also saw my first comet, a brilliant

I'm glad you had such a good time together.

I've been very interested in wood as of late, probably because of the texture difference between that and the things I'm accustomed to touching daily. And, speaking of different textures, I am wanting, and figuring out ways, to play the fiddle.

Ah, we did! And I just love working with wood, finding ways of bringing out the gorgeousness of its grain and the depths of its colors. And it has such a warm feel- yum!
