Okay, I've finished another historical paranormal romance, and am now jumping ship (just for the new book) to try my hand at YA.

Seeing as I work at a middle school library and am surrounded by teenage kids and YA books, I figured why not? I have an awesome idea, and pending Agent L likes it as much as me, I'll be writing it next. In fact, I've ( Read more... )

Thanks Lunalila! I'm probably going to keep the premise under my hat for a while, but I can say it involves fairies. They've always fascinated me.;-)

Do you write YA fantasy/paranormal or mainstream?

I've written both, fantasy and mainstream, but I'm not published yet. Right now I'm working on a YA paranormal romance :).

Awesome! Mine has a romance in it, too...and this will be the first teen romance I've ever written, so this should be interesting. Any suggestions or tips from a seasoned pro?

Yes. After writing YA contemporary for awhile now, I decided to try a YA paranormal and am having a lot more fun.

I have no doubt your story will be fabulous :) Hooray for you for going with it!

Thanks Terri! I have a really good feeling about the premise. It's very unique. So, how are things rolling with you and your projects? Have you and the agent sent off anything new lately?

Nothing new to report yet :) I'm still working to finish up this paranormal thing, and then we'll see. It's getting harder to find time to write with the season coming on again. I'm back to working at night after the hustle of the day :)

Just kidding!

Well, you know that I went from historical to contemporary and I don't remember any snags. It seemed pretty smooth, but I'm positive I could never write YA!
I think you'll do great with it. :-)

Thanks for the confidence in my abilities, dear friend. And yeah, you ROCK at contemporary romance, which I don't think I could ever do.

Thanks for stopping by. And BIG HA on the subject line. ;-)
