Being your first time writing US/UK, I think you did a good job :) Now (this is just my opinion), you mostly told us history. One event after another. While presenting historical events make fics quite interesting, you have to try for them not to resemble an history book. I think that, for this particular fic, more character interaction would have helped a lot. Also, pay attention to grammar: to give you an example, "more attention to Alfred more than ever"...there's an extra 'more' in there xD

But other than that, good job :)
