Peachling is due on Monday, but seems happy to stay in the smial for the moment. No false labour or anything like that. Her head is engaged (ready for birth) and the doc is happy to let her go seven days overdue before considering induction. I'm getting the occasional text/call to the effect of 'had it yet'? Newp. She's just doing roly-polies in ( Read more... )

Tick.....tick.....tick.....tick....

I know it seems interminable, but before you know it, you'll have your arms full of beautiful baby girl!

It's not really all that unusual for a first baby to be overdue. Our elder son was five days late and our new grandson was four days late.

All the very best for the big day! :)

Thanks Maewyn! Yes, I always thought she'd go overdue and so does my sister. My sister-in-law was about two weeks late!

Mum just doesn't want her to come in the middle of the night, considering the current weather. :D

That's understandable. We've just had thunder, lightning and light hail. And now it's raining again.... Lovely night. You definitely don't want to be out in this kind of weather for any reason, let alone in labour. :)

oh, countdown begins!!!

What weather is happening there that your mum doesn't want you to go into labor in middle of night?

Wet, windy and stormy! Last night there was thunder and lightning and tonight we might get hail. So Mum isn't crazy about the idea of driving 40 minutes to the hospital at midnight in those conditions. Mum hates winter, she's usually in the tropics this time of year. Hopefully Peachling is a good girl and picks the daytime. She gave a good kick last night during the storm as if to say 'shut up, I'm trying to sleep in here!'

First babies are often late, as I'm sure you know...

Good luck and please keep us updated with news about Peachling :-)

Yep, they so often are! (Or like wizards, they arrive precisely when they mean to...)

I'll let you guys know asap, there will be a texting/emailing frenzy once she arrives, providing I have my laptop with me. I have got a brand new one and much better Wifi now! *hugs back*

*wibbles* I was thinking of you when all the royal baby news were everywhere (and arrgh, George???? I was rooting for Arthur!! :D).

Anyway, enjoy the uninterrupted nights as long as you can! :DDDDDD I hope you've thought of a way to let us all know as soon as possible, once the peachling is there!!

Heh yes, the royal baby had to come first. My baby can marry him. And I agree, George isn't really my favourite name by a long shot. How cool would it be to have a real King Arthur?!

I'll miss the sleep. :D And I hope Mum or I will have time to take our laptops to the hospital, or something so I can notify you all. :):)
