Hi guys, I came across this facebook group. Simply us Vegans taking a stance and saying NO to 'Quorn' products as "Quorn" are soon to be the alpha source of vegetarian freezer products in Australian supermarkets: replacing all the VEGAN friendly brands including FRY'S products throughout our supermarkets.

I doubt they will replace all vegan friendly brands, sounds like a bad rumor to me. They don't have the power to say who can sell certain products in supermarkets, that's up to the store, not another company.

I was thinking this also, but I still find it worrying as my supermarket only stocks frys brand products and now more Quorn is showing up on the shelves.

I have heard reports from some supermarket customers that it has replaced all the good stuff. My local coles has really slack product managers and I wouldn't be surprised if they do this.

I haven't even seen Quorn in a supermarket yet, so I guess that means mine won't be taken over by it anytime soon.

If all else fails, the smaller type supermarkets are less likely to change their current supplier, so try IGA or something like that if the others start to phase out the good stuff.

As an Aussie living in the UK- Quorn is in almost all the supermarkets and is used in schools/pubs as the "vegetarian option" despite there being several good vegan brands of similar products available. When I've asked if they could switch brands I've often been met with a "oh we have a deal with Quorn" or "but that's the vegetarian option". They have saturated the market here at the expense of vegans and those who don't eat egg.

If you can talk to your local shops about stocking vegan alternatives to Quorn (and they listen) that would be great as trying to get stores to change back or start providing a vegan option is tricky.
