yeah, I saw that on channel 7 news tonight. There standard line was something like *how embarrassing that this happened... and at a time when we are trying to "impress" the world*   Now clearly that's where we went wrong. Trying to "impress" the world is just a stupid idea!

Rumsfeld's out of the picture. Cheney has pretty much always been the head of things, as far as I can tell, though Karl Rove ("Deputy Chief of Staff") called a lot of shots until his resignation this past week. Cheney himself is not so much an ideologue as a soulless, vengeful, calculating evil genius. Genius enough to make his plans work for a while, anyway

I think Shrub was tagged for the presidential race because he would do what he was told to do...by Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove, etc. He is merely a puppet for the corporate cronies and the pro-lifers and the hate-mongers.
