That is ridiculous. Their ratings issues have nothing to do with the couple. It has to do with the fact that soaps are a dying form. They're crashing the world over. They're suffering the same probs in Germany from what I unddestand, and other countries, too.

Agreed. Their ratings probably have something to do with the fact that aside from this SL, the show is almost unbarable.

I was super impressed with ABC when they went ahead with the love scene etc. But that network is starting to get a name for itself for starting out being all pro-gay and then backing out real fast when things start to get serius. That is just pathetic.

Soaps really don't serve the same purpose as they used to and dont get the same kind of money as primetime shows. I can understand why they are fading.

As for finishing your story, I always find it much easier to write in closed canons. I think you'll find you have a lot more freedom when they aren't constantly fucking you over with their own storylines.

I agree! So many of the other storylines have been just AWFUL.

This is the 2nd time ABC has done this: get all progressive with a gay story line and then as soon as there is even the slightest trouble, pulls it in a heartbeat.

I'm still so sad about this today...:(

Yeah...I'm still relaly bummed. I feel really sad for the actors too who hadn't heard they were being written off either. THat is just shitty!

At least the rumor is that they will get a happy ending.
