Rory strode into her room after the scene with Belthazor, and threw the door shut behind her. It bounced slightly, and remained ajar

Anakin was only a few steps behind her. He pushed the door open and closed it quietly behind him.

"Hey," he said softly.

"Hi!" Rory said brightly, looking up from Vladdie. "So, how's your evening going?"

Anakin gave her a look. "This is me, Rory," he said, coming over to the desk and gazing down at her. "And I know you're not okay."

Rory looked up at him, and then stared back down at Vladdie.

"Yeah, well...I knew Cole - Belthazor - whatever...wanted to desoul Angel, and that he's evil. I just wasn't expecting to hear that," she said quietly. "It's not a big deal."

Anakin finally looked up from an intense study of his boots. Proper footware maintenance was important for Jedi.

His ears were still red from blushing.

"Um," he said eloquently.

Rory bit her lip, focusing on a spot on the wall just over Parker's head.

"Mm," she supplied helpfully. "I...um...I don't know, Parker. Maybe you're an overly suspcious person?"

Parker chortled. Completely not her fault.

"You think?" she mocked them both, then rolled her eyes. "Forget it, continue hugging. I was just going to talk to Rory about Angel. Ignore my presence. Really."

"What about Angel?" Anakin asked, his face finally a nomal color.

And if he moved slightly closer to Rory, well, he wanted to lean on the desk again.

Anakin blinked a little at hearing that Jonathan was evil, too, but didn't think now would be quite the moment to ask for more information.

He watched Rory yawn and stifled one of his own. "I should probably be going," he said quietly, looking at Rory. "Unless you'd rather I not, of course."

His cheeks went faintly pink saying that in front of Parker, but he wanted to make sure Rory would be all right.

Parker smirked, cocked and eyebrow, and folded her arms.

She looked at Anakin.

She looked at Rory.

And she said nothing.

Rory cleared her throat. "I, um...I'll be okay on my own. Thanks," she said quietly, meeting Anakin's eyes. "And if I need anything...well, you'd probably sense it before I could get to my phone, huh?"

She blushed, very aware of Parker's presence. She also was deeply not looking forward to the inevitable, unrelenting teasing she'd be getting.

"Something like that," he replied, very careful not to touch her. He gave her a small smile. "Sweet dreams."

He headed for the door. "Night, Parker," he said, completely unaware of the fate he was leaving Rory to.
