"If I find out that the person who wrote the Pokey Little Puppy is still alive, I will go to their house and kill them," Anakin groused as he came out of Juliet's room. "I had to read that book four times. With different voices for Momma and the puppies. And it reinforces the idea that being slow will get you dessert."

He smiled at her as he sat down. "Also hi."

"You should get used to reading it," Rory said slowly, glancing at him and smiling a little. "Hi."

"Well, it is her favorite," Anakin admitted. "At least this month. I keep pushing for something that's a little shorter but--" he trailed off, blinking at her. "Or is that not what you meant?"

Rory shrugged a little at him, kind of at a loss. "Um. It's kind of not. I mean, I...." She cleared her throat, and finally finished, "Um, surprise! I have a surprise for you. I hope you like it."
