This will be a non-philosophical entry, partily because my "dinner" is ready and I want to eat while it is hot and secondly, I doubt anyone is up this late reading me.

One of my younger cats is sitting with me on the couch and keeps trying to eat the cords of my computer and phone charger and the pen I am making notes with. It is so cute. I wish I could post pictures more easily onto LJ. You will just have to imagine how cute she is.

Watching the Stand, especially the first part when everyone is getting ill, I think about how with people living longer and longer, not only do we have the financial issues I was talking about earlier, but I have a almost teen child, a mother who just turned retirement agency, and great grandparents who are in their 80's. My husband returned with Chips-Ahoy cookies, Dr. Pepper, Baby Ruth bars, 5 hour energy drinks, Velvetta Mac and Cheese, and Strawberry ice cream. I just took one of the 5 hour drinks and am following it up with cookies and Dr. Pepper because they really don't taste very good but they do work. All that is on my mind at this moment is I'm hungry. My husband went out to store a while ago to get dinner and snacks but he is not back and I am hungry. Sorry that is all I have to share this half hour.

I am watching the Goonies and while most of it is just really funny it has a serious note under it. They were all about to lose their homes and have to get split up and move away. Every year as it gets late and then into the early hours it is the hardest part to keep going. Sometimes I figure that I have all the sponsors I am going to get and no one else is awake and reading me anyway and so those hours are for nothing. But every year but one, I kept going. In the purpose of staying awake, I have sent my husband to the store for dinner and snacks and some of that 5 hour energy. I am watching the Goonies. I love this movie! I wish I could go back and live in the 80s sometimes. It seems like a simplier time.

I know for me being disabled is not just physical. I feel so alone. I try to walk a fine line between asking for help but not burdening my family. All of the "friends" I had from my job faded away once they knew I was gone for sure. I have one friend that we do lunch with sometimes.
