A bit silly to be posting word counts when I so clearly am NOT going to get 50K out of this month...I'll be lucky to manage two chapters. But some progress is occurring despite being dreadfully sick, so I'll call this good. (As usual, I delete about twice as many words as I write each day.)

The hardest part of NaNo for me was always wanting to edit, haha. You're just supposed to write and not go back and delete or revise anything but it's SO HARD leaving bad writing there on the page.

I might give that a try. I'm not actually participating in NaMoWriMo, since my goal is not to write a new novel but just devote November to LHAD and get it as far along as I can. But that suggestion might help me move forward, at least for the next two chapters where I've got a bunch of different alternatives I'm trying to sort out. (Which characters go where, which stay behind?)

But holding off on revising and editing was really unintuitive for me. I'm so used to the serialized fanfic approach, writing, editing, completing, illustrating, and posting each chapter one by one. Writing them all at once and then going back to polish them was really intimidating and I literally have not touched the thing that I wrote last year even though that was the first year that I actually won.
So there are drawbacks to the frenzied NaNo approach, or at least there were for me, but it does let you cover a lot of novelling ground.
