I think the reflex test is looking for nerve damage, because of the fact it is a spinal problem.

Fingers crossed everything goes well.

Glad to hear you got it over with.

Healthcare professional is more a generalised term these days - for example my ex-flatmate was a pharmacist but is referred to as a healthcare professional but I wouldn't think of him as a nurse!

'Healthcare Professional' is such a woolly term, isn't it. There is far too much that is vague about too many health workers these days.

It's like the way a Chiropractor, whilst they can be good, don't have to have the qualifications an Osteopath does, and their professional organisation is more like a protection racket than someone who keeps them in line (eg http://www.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/339/jul08_4/b2783). Someone said there might not be any evidence for what we're telling people, quick, sue them!

It's so hard to tell the difference between trained and untrained people without knowing which are potentially safe, and which potentially dodgy. And the only protection out there is the ASA, which refuses to deal with websites, in a world where people are actively promising cures (or rather, more often promising treatments, as these don't have to do anything)!
