Working with disabled people and helping them fill in DLA forms I know you have to concentrate on your worst day scenario and present that. They will not accept anything other when giving help - if you say you can usually (for example) get to the loo unaided, they will assume you always can and not give you the money needed to refit your loo. You of course not actually meaning your lovely self in that example!
It's ridiculous, I have seen it lead to relapses for people due to the negative affirmations but the sad annoying fact is, if you want aid from them, that's what you need to do.

Good luck!

I agree with poppymayhem present what the worst case day is to them. That day where to even get up from the bed is a struggle and painful. State how much painkillers you regularly take.

You've had to curtail your hobbies because of this problem. You find doing the housework difficult. Yes it's still possible but it's difficult. Sitting in one position for a prolonged period causes difficulty with driving etc. None of this is lies. It's all down to how you phrase it to make them see that it is causing you problems.

Hope it goes off okay though.

Hugs

If it's any consolation my Dad had to go for assessment to the DSS, after he had a knee replaced.

Not everyone who is seen at a DSS centre is swinging the lead or trying one on. In fact I think that quite a few wind up there after a lifetime of paying taxes with genuine conditions that prevent them from working.

Go for it - you know you're entitled and it will make a huge amount of difference.
