finally, a day off!

Oct 18, 2008 16:23

I am taking the day off. Feel like I very much deserve it. I've been working flat-out for the last couple of weeks with only a break on Sunday evening last week. Which meant by Monday night, when I finally turned the computer off, a 40-minute bout of sobbing completely destroyed all my dignity. And didn't help much with my stress levels either. But ( Read more... )

oise, daily life

It's so simple yet works so well - I can't remember the last time I had so much as a cold! Two, three years ago?

Any idea what The Eleventh Hour is about? Sounds like it has a supernatural bent to it, somehow...

I take it racoons are the brush possums of the Toronto garden world?

Ugh worse, much worse. Scary buggars they are. They knock over the green bins (for food waste, the city collects and composts it) to get at the rotting food inside, which makes a real mess, and when they fight they sound like hyenas, and they're very aggressive and noisy and scare the crap out of me. Give me a brush-tailed possum any day!

We'll know tonight whether cutting down the spindly cedars helped. The cats aren't able to climb up but who knows about the racoons?

Oh dear Rufus! I know what you mean, I couldn't be bothered sitting through some CSI type show just to watch him! This is rather ironic too as I was only watching "Cold Comfort Farm" yesterday and was wondering what had become of him.

To change the subject - Tara loaned me the DVD of "The Triplets of Belville". I hadn't seen it before and I love it!!

Hope you go well with your Practicum, at least you've had previous experience with classroom type situations.

*hugs*

Oh I love that movie! I have a copy too, and the soundtrack :)

I'm wishing now I'd volunteered in a classroom here, just for familiarity's sake. I don't really have high school experience or even classroom experience - well, my classroom experience doesn't have much in common with what I'm going into. Well. I'm nervous but not as much as I was before that presentation!

I keep switching it I know, I just get so bored with them all! Is this one easier on your eyes?

Y'know the worst thing about finally taking a day off and resting? Everything catches up with you - including colds! I think both Adam and I have got one, his throat's really sore and I keep having to blow my nose all the time. I'm drinking lots of Ojay with extra vitamin C added but if I overdo it it'll upset my tummy more than it already is... Just trying to hold it together! Thanks for the hug :)

Yes - this one is much easier on my eyes. *lol*

Look at my new layout, not to mention all of my other journals have dark layers, too

Boy, don't I know that! There are some days when I just don't feel like doing anything - and I end up feeling very guilty for it, lol.

Oh you've changed layouts! It looks good - I like the red and grey :) I'm fussy when it comes to my sidebar so there are quite a lot of layout styles I haven't tried because I can't manipulate my sidebar. I find the white text on grey is easier on the eyes than white text on black, not as glaring maybe?

Try drinking grape juice. It has twice the lovely antioxidants of orange juice. In fact, a nutritionist recommended drinking a glass of orange juice and a glass of grape juice every other day.

Grape juice hey? I don't think I've ever tried it. Thanks :)

I prefer grape juice, actually; it's still tart but less acidic, easier on the stomach.
