Happy Birthday madhowan ! I'd do the sparkly thing but I don't remember how!

Looks like we're getting into that time of year when pretty much everyone's born! Christmas or New Year babies *smirk* ;)

Today has been such a write-off. I haven't got anything done. By the time I got home it was about 1.30. Then I had to make myself some lunch and check all my ( Read more... )

I know what you mean, I had a peek at the calendar for October birthdays and nearly pooed my pants!!

I've seen an ad of that movie not long ago - I think they were showing it on SBS but we missed it. Even the ad looked endearing.

They played it on SBS? Guess that figures ;) It's not really a "commercial" film!

Arrgh - I know exactly what you mean! Today was my day off and I was suppose to work on the first draft of my artist autobiography and what did I do? Not that!

I'm suppose to have it typed and posted up before the end of tomm. and I have to go into work tomm.!! *headdesk*

And that doesn't exclude all the other assignments I have to do!

Why does it always seem like everyday I have a day off my mom makes me go somewhere with her!? That just takes away time I need to spend working on my school shit!!

*ugh* This is making me glad I will be quitting my job (last day Oct. 7) - maybe I can stop having these panic attacks because I know that school stuff is not going to wait on me.

Online classes aren't exactly all that convinient...

For me it's mostly house and pet stuff that gets in the way - always something that we need from the shops, a cat wants to be let inside, floor has to be vacuumed again, cat wants to go outside, cat wants to be fed, cat wants to sleep on your books...

I couldn't work while doing this degree. I've met some people at OISE who are working, a few evenings or on the weekend, and I don't know how they do it. Don't think they will be able to do it once Practicum starts!

I don't think I will mind doing some house work after my last day at work, mainly because I'll be helping my mom (who has a broken arm).

Well, I have found out that I can't balance school and work. It just doesn't work for me - it takes up all my time and energy and all I can really think about is work, and school is put on the back-bunner. If I want a degree from this school, I CAN'T do that.

I don't know how people can balance it; some can but some can't. I'm in the latter group :P

I tried - in first and second year uni I worked on Saturday mornings, starting at 5am, making several hundred muffins at a muffin cafe, and then staying on to do customers and then cleaning. And I also started picking up hours during the week too. It paid well - these kinds of jobs pay well back home, I was earning $19 an hour plus some by the time I quit - but it wore me out and I just didn't have enough time to really concentrate on my essays. At least I was receiving money from the government; many weren't so lucky - or unlucky, depending on your perspective - it was "free" money but based on your parents income, meaning my parents barely had any. But the government allowance was enough to get me through without having to work.

Oh hah, just what I need to think about, my parents getting freaky at a New Year's Eve party.

I always mean to get homework and studying done over the weekend but I'm so tired I sleep most of the weekend away. And when I'm not sleeping I'm just lazing around, basking in the idea of not having to worry about being at class or work on time. I really hate having to go to work in the afternoons, I spend all day constantly glancing at the clock and worrying that I'll let time get away from me and I'll be late. I'd rather get up early and get the whole mess over with and have the rest of the day to do whatever.

You've pretty much described my life these days :) I'm really struggling to focus and my brain actually aches sometimes, it's so tired! It just wants to read some trashy book or I'll just sit on the couch, doing nothing. I don't like afternoon or evening appointments either, you can't start anything because you know you'll have to drop it soon anyway. I'm lucky that I have such early starts, and no big gaps between classes - really just enough to eat lunch.

Thank you muchly! I'd send sparkles back but that means finding the link :S So have puppy eyes Tennant instead. *grins*

Argh, there's always something, isn't there? You have to check your mail, or print out notes, or something, and it always means getting sucked into the delicious internetty vortex.

I've heard good things about that movie - have been meaning to see it.

Speaking of Tennant, found out that the latest series of Doctor Who has finally started here, but sadly I missed it last week - more cleaning frenzy to kill fleas, though we're pretty sure we don't have them anymore. Then we sat down to chill and watch Run Fat Boy Run which was really funny. Adam doesn't have any interest in Dr. W so I didn't even bother suggesting that we watch it.

Oh, season four is really good! Especially the last four episodes of the season. Has it only just started, do you know? If you do get to see it, Catherine Tate is brilliant in it.

Haha, I loved Run, Fat Boy, Run ... not as good as stuff done by Pegg/ Wright, but anything with Simon Pegg and Dylan Moran can't be bad, right?

Pegg and Moran make a great team! Loved all the bum shots too ;)

I think it's just started, but I haven't had a telly guide for a few weeks. I just stumbled across it on the ÇBC website, forget how, and it didn't say when it had started, only that it had. I have a feeling I'll end up missing all these ones too. *sigh* And the DVDs are so expensive! You can get the DVDs of series 1 & 2 together for about $150, otherwise they're nearly $90 each! Is it the same back home?
