People seem mildly interested when they learn I'm from Australia, but when they find out I'm from Tassie they get all excited. I'm not sure if it's because it has a great rep or because it sounds even further away and exotic or what, but I am proud of the state. Despite the crap that goes down. We all have that don't we

"We're all related". Resembles Switzerland a lot. Whenever I go there, I find that the locals seem to know each other perfectly well :)

Have never felt anything like that in Russia.

A couple of my friends lived in Adelaide for a year, and they LOVED Tasmania. They rave about it. They went two or three times and dragged people they knew and basically became walking travel ads for it. :) They're going back to Australia in October, and Tasmania is absolutely on their agenda.

So basically, though I have never been, I desperately want to visit Tasmania someday! The walking travel ads have done their part. :)
