The lovely thing about those online contact forms put up by special interest groups is that you don't necessarily have to use them in accordance with the agenda for which they are created.

Case in point:

AFAIK, Congressmen don't use any book for their swearing in.

Guh.

This is the exact argument that I try to avoid with my grandma. I don't know why some people pretend that there is one *true* American culture that is exclusively male dominated white protestant christian. While this is certainly a large percentage, at no point in history was this the only culture present in America or even the majority. The United states of America has always been an amalgamation of different cultures, religions, and philosophies. In fact, when you go far enough back this "culture" was forcefully introduced.

But then I'm preaching to the choir...

The dollar bill says "In God We Trust" not "In the Christian God Portrayed in the King James Version of the Bible We Trust"
