Connor had aged again. His father remained the same as always, but Connor knew he was older before he noticed the larger hands and the height difference. It was the painful look in his father's eyes as he realized that more time had passed with them being stuck in this world.
"How old do you think I am now?" He asked quietly as his dad forced a smile. He really hated when he did that. Why smile when you are not truly happy?
"Ten, maybe twelve."
He could feel his father's eyes on him as he look in the changes that he could see. His clothes had always been large on him so he still fit in them all right. Normally getting older hadn't been a big deal to Connor, but now he was starting to realize that while he aged his dad didn't. It scared him a bit. What if he were to grow very old and one day be older than his dad? What if he died in this world leaving his dad all alone here?
That couldn't happen. Connor was determined to find a way back to Los Angeles before he died. He wanted to see his father's world, and he wanted to slow down aging because it was breaking his dad's heart.
