Oh, the agony!

I just found a perfect fabric for Padme's Packnig Dress from AOTC (from Stockmann's grazy days), but I can't have it!

a) It is too expencive, 11,90 €/metre. I have aready bought fabrics and ordered various books , and I just cannot afford it.

b) They only have maybe 10 metres of the fabric. I would definitely need some more.

c) Even ( Read more... )

I guess you're talking about a fabric for the skirt? Maybe you can go and ask for the origin of the fabric - if you get the product name and manufacturer you may be able to trace another source for it and get it later when you can afford it... at Stockmann's they might even order it for you. Geesh now I have to go and see the fabric you're talking about even when I've sworn to stay away from that place this week.

Ottoman project? I'm curious, is it costuming or something else?

Yes, maybe I should.. Since it was so perfect for the skirt ( I was too agitated to mention I talked about skirt fabric :D). Good thinking.

My "ottoman project" is nothing spectacular, just a 16th century womens garb for a re-enactment event this weekend. I am a not so active member of a Elävä Keskiaika ry and on this event we have a crusade theme. I just like 16th century Ottoman style much better, and I figured that no one would care anyway, if I wore something that is out of our period (100-1400). I will probably post pictures of it next week.

I went to see the fabric and I have to agree it was pretty much perfect. But so little of it, maybe 5-6 metres?
