I went to Stockmann to ask about the perfect fabric, but they could tell me nothing useful. I only learnt that they could not find out where it came from (which is bizarre) and since it was a Grazy Days product, they will not order it again. So that's it. I am even more down-hearted about this now that

Hmph. Stupid Stockmann. Did they still have those discount silks there or was it only for last week?

(Muutenkaan en tiedä, mitä aatella niiden uudesta kangasosastosta. Vaikka se on suurempi, muotikankaita ja silkkejä tuntuu olevan entistä vähemmän. Laajennus on osunut enemmänkin sisustuskangaspuolelle. Sanomatalon Eurokankaan silkki- ja juhlakangasosasto on musta jo ajanut Stockmannin ohi.)

If you're seriously looking for a new fabric for the skirt, I believe you'll be able to find a similar fabric. The label said it was taffeta, and it was very thin, almost transparent. Anyhow, I do think that your dupioni skirt looks great. The material may be a bit stiffer than the original, but it has got the right texture and great colour!

No they, didn't. I am not seriously planning to do redo the skirt just now, but some day, and this would have been a great opportunity to get perfect fabric easily. But some day..

(Ja olen ihan samaa mieltä Stockmannin kangasosastosta. Muutenkin tuntuu siltä, että muotikankaita on vaikeampi ja vaikeampi löytää Helsingistä, ja Fabrissokin muuttui sisustuskangasliikkeeksi. Eurokankankaan valkikoima on nykyään kyllä todella hyvä, ja kaikkia kivoja villa/silkki sekoitteita yms. jännää löytää, jos vaan jaksaa penkoa ne pöydät läpi.)
