This one make me cringe.

http://community.livejournal.com/lj_biz/241884.html?thread=12445148#t12445148 - LJ's been considering mandatory ratings for posts.

I really don't want to have to mark posts as "R" for all my swearing, especially if it's a private "note to self" post -.-

They're into that stuff these days!

that's just what i was afraid of...

the MPAA system is hard enough to apply to the medium for which it's intended. i can only imagine the bickering if a system with those ratings were actually going to be enforced here.

It would be a mess. This is prolly why it's not been enstated.

The MPAA would sic lawyers on LJ before it was even out of beta testing =P

Now with correct spelling. I'm really going to bed this time. I'm sure the LJ staff will still be digging their graves in the morning

LJ has enough problems with the search draining resources, add that and the coding, it's probably not worth their time.

Unless they force you to do it yourself, and boot you if you don't ...

Just sayin... Anyway, coffeegirl said it's been discussed for a while, so maybe it's not been implimented for a reason.

there must be some way for us to make all of the fandom-quashing stuff so exceedingly boring and time-consuming that no one wants to do it.

Hmmm ... well, ther'es backdating a porn post in a comm like pornish pixies, and some offsite way for members to locate it. A code, like. Not foolproof, but it could help.
