not to be a moron, but what does this mean for WAMU clients? Like me, who have, you know, maybe $300 bucks in the bank on a good day?

Absolutely nothing. I suspect (but haven't checked yet) that the ATMs are open and functioning fine. Deposits are FDIC insured up to $100k.

Eventually a bunch of people will be fired and branches will be closed, and maybe their ATMs will stop saying insane things like "hi there!"
