A very rushed Vida was on the phone, leaving a message for Noxeema Jackson as she used a marker to write on a piece of paper on the counter. "Miss Noxi, this is Vida," she said when she got her voice mail. "Our little Drag Princess Chi-Chi has gotten herself into a bit of trouble and has put out a call for help. I'm on my way to New York to get you and should be there in five hours. Pack the snacks and sunscreen, pumpkin, it's going to be a long drive to Los Angeles."
She stuck the "Free flowers!" sign she'd been writing on the door, put on her hat, grabbed her picture of Julie Newmar, then headed down to the Cadillac convertible awaiting her at the parking lot on the causeway.
