Moar Caffeine, Plz...

I did not sleep well last night. The poor Husbandly One tossed and turned most of the night, and therefore, I spent a lot of it curled up against his side with my chin digging a hole in his chest, chatting and making him laugh. I know, sounds an odd way of spending a night when someone is restless, but THO needed distraction in a big way, and for ( Read more... )

funny stuff, hair woes, photos, my life in pictures, the husbandly one, teh sick, reading

Recently, though rarely, I've considered cutting my ponytail off. I'll bear in mind THO's reaction next time the feeling comes around.

I think Gaudy Night is my second favorite; Busman's Honeymoon being first. No--maybe it's the other way around. They both show off Peter and Harriet's relationship so well. Gaudy Night's a better novel (Busman's Honeymoon is almost silly in comparison), but the P/H bit at the end of BH is so deep. On the other hand, the exchange in GN when... Oops. That would be a spoiler.

*laughs* Lord Peter is an old friend, and I have read the books over and over and over again. If I'm not careful, I'll start writing Lord Peter fan-fiction!!

Oh totally DO IT. And Busman's Honeymoon comes off as a bit silly because it was a stage play before it was a book.

I know--and you can tell the difference. All the action in the front room is very visual, just as if it were on stage in your head. People popping their heads in the window, and coming from the kitchen or the cellar telling what happened elsewhere. And the parts that take place away from that room are, hmm, richer. That's where the P/H is developed.

I love the Lord Peter books, I used to wear a monocle in college (well, you know art school) because of it.

I can just see you doing that!! Really, I can!

Have you read Thrones, Dominations yet? It was Sayer's last book, and was finished by Jill Paton Walsh.

I have it. But I only read it once, when it came out. It's probably time for a reread.

I understand, I have been keeping mine short because frankly I have been in too much pain to lift my arms to braid it.

But I haz goals. Me and new Chiropracter discussed me goals, she said we can do my goals.

So goal number one lose weight, target 175, but I will be happy to get under 200.

Goal number two no hump.

Goal number three no more lyme.

Goal number four improve arthitus joint conditions, dependent on achieving Goal number three, pray clinical trial works.

Goal number five get in shape and if i achieve this one, I am buying a motorcycle and my hair grows back out.

I'm with you on all of your goals, totally! Except, I'm losing weight without even trying, and I have to admit, that's freaking me out a little.
