Okay, on top of the low grade fever... now I'm itching something fierce!! Just took the last of the Benadryl and hope whatever it is slows down until tomorrow morning, when I can call the doctor

You got chamomile teabags anywhere? Wet one, and wipe it over the itchy places. Seriously. It works a bit like a localised anaesthetic. It doesn't numb the skin, but it calms down the irritation almost instantly.
My mother-in-law was going crazy when she reacted to a med she was put on, and she thought we were mad for suggesting it, but desperate enough to try anything. She was so shocked when it helped.
We've also used it on pets in the past to great effect. (One of said mother-in-law's dogs used to come up in hives from a weed that grew in the garden.)
Weird thought but if you haven't seen the doc at all yet; could it be from the Benadryl? If you haven't seen him yet and you haven't eaten any new foods, I woul stop the Benadryl and/or change the bedsheets..just to be safe.
