Congrats on finishing this project! Podficing is a lot harder than some people realize. If you're looking for different software for next time, I use Audacity, which is free and really good. If you've got a Mac, though, it might be worth investigating to see if you can get ProTools. I don't know if it's still the case, but they used to have a freeware version available that was the same as the full version, except you were limited to 8 tracks.
I'm sorry to hear your summer didn't work out the way you were hoping. It does rather suck to have to spend four months away from your friends working some random job, especially if you were planning for something awesome. Soon, though, it will be September, the season of back to school and spiffy new coats. ^_^
