Sometimes I get really angsty. Because making characters suffer is ... fun? Somehow. Only because eventually I tend to give them cuddles and happy sex later, after putting them through all this angst. Usually I do that all in the same fic, but with this it's just ... straight-up angst. Might do a sequel someday, might not.

Linksano is just so much fun to dump all these issues onto. His homeworld is gone, his brother and Spoonette, Vyce following him, Mechakara leering at him, Linkara telling him if he screws up he'll be thrown onto the ice planet with Vyce and to certain death ... plus everyone telling him he sucks at being a scientist.

Exactly. I like making the characters I love suffer. I do find it fun as well... :)

I try to justify it as "I'm only putting them through this so that later the payoff is all the sweeter, with the comforting and the good sex and stuff" but sometimes no, it basically boils down to "you're pretty when you cry and sometimes I'm a sadist."

Some characters are just fun to hurt! Nothin' wrong with that.

They really are. :D Just sometimes I feel guilty about it is all. Then I'm like "then they have wonderful comfort sex after all the angst and it's all good" and so no more guilt.
I just like those kinds of stories sometimes, the character suffers and then they get a reward. Pretty messed-up when I think about it, but it's what I like to write and read sometimes.

It's not just Linksano who gives fantastic angst/smut in fics, though there is plenty of him, and just searching his tags on the Masterlist is a good way to start.

Personally I highly recommend this one featuring Evil!Linkara and Good!Insano. It is delicious and will make you cry. In a good way and a sad way. And it's super intimate and hot and one of the best written fics I've ever read in this fandom, or any fandom really. If I were to make a Top 10 Fanfics List, this would be right near the top.

Yeah, I'm just a sucker for evil Linkaras being dommy. Whether in robot form, or hologram form, or alternate universe form...I dunno what it is! It just has an effect on me! And this has the benefit of making poor Linksano all angsty. Which I likes. So kudos. :)

I'm not objecting. Only observing. I get it. I really get this. And I think I'm starting to like it.

Oh lord, all the fics about him ... so many about his lost universe, his brother and Spoonette, and it's all so DEPRESSING ... and he's so scared of Linkara, who point-blank threatened him with death ... and he's never really addressed that whole issue ...

No, they really don't. Mostly because we the writers like him to be angsty and misunderstood and sad and stuff. So there can be comfort after the hurting!
